Head of Credit

Job Purpose

Establish processes for credit assessments, reviews, restructuring, monitoring and recovery, and developing prudent credit guidelines in line with GlobalCorp organizational requirements and also to ensure accurate and comprehensive credit assessments are conducted to support informed credit decisions. This position requires expertise in financial analysis, credit evaluation, and industry knowledge.

Main Accountabilities

  • Develop, refine, and implement Credit Analysis policies and workflow ensuring that they are aligned with GlobalCorp wide strategy, objectives, and policies.
  • Manage and implement the due diligence process of credit proposals including credit information, client management, client operations, collections, market research, client’s financial position, projection and purpose of Leasing or Factoring and ensure that is aligned with the credit policies and procedures.
  • Manage the periodic review of client status in case of amendments or limit increases or overdues needed to their current agreement.
  • Oversee the review and monitoring of existing credit relationships to ensure that clients are fulfilling the established payment schedules and to identify any potential payment risks.
  • Oversee the review lease portfolio on annual basis and provide comments and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with the Legal Department in case of legal actions to be taken against defaulted lessees.
  • Provide management with accurate data and opinion to support them to take proper decisions in the Senior Credit Committee, Asset and Liability Committee and Policies and Procedures Committee.
  • Conduct market research and provide the Corporate Division with insights on the market and industries.
  • Manage the thorough review of credit memos and proposals and make sure that information and requirements are complete and valid and abide to the company’s strategy and credit policy.
  • Set subordinates’ individual objectives, manage their performance, and provide feedback and coaching in order to maximize subordinate and departmental performance.
  • Provide input and recommend the continuous improvement of practices relating to credit analysis considering changes in international standards and changes in the business environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline – preferably, Finance or Economics.
  • Certification as a Credit Professional.

Working Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in credit or financial analysis in a financial institution.

Technical Skills

  • Business acumen.
  • Computer and automation literate.
