Head of Risk

Role Description

Responsible for overseeing and managing the Investigation, Collection, Risk & Credit Assessment departments with a strong understanding of risk management principles, investigative techniques, credit assessment methodologies, and collection practices within the consumer finance industry.

Main Accountabilities

1. Responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that help to reduce the credit risk of the organization.
2. Oversee the management of the unsecured lending portfolio and continually optimize risk strategy for acquisition, fraud detection, and collection.
3. Conducting financial analysis and forecasting for program recommendations, tracking, and analyzing performance of various tests and acquisition programs to evaluate effectiveness as well as creating and monitoring regular MIS to track various acquisition programs.
4. Contribute to the team’s efficient and effective credit risk assessment, credit underwriting, and portfolio/risk management.
5. Review credit lending & provisions criteria.
6. Establish risk manuals and maintain relevant documentation for audit and inspection.

Qualification and Experience 

1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 15 years of demonstrated experience in Risk Management” preferable in the consumer finance industry”.
3. At least 5-7 years of experience in a managerial position.
4. Proven experience in risk management, credit assessment, investigation management, and collection operations in the consumer finance industry.
5. Strong knowledge of credit assessment methodologies, collection practices, and regulatory requirements.
6. Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
